2019 Swimming Carnival
Thursday 14th February brought us beautiful weather that was conducive to a great day in the pool. Students arrived, flooding the pool deck with a sea of colour, proudly supporting their respective Houses.
The level of overall participation was very pleasing this year, with a large number of students entering the competition races. This was most evident in the sheer numbers competing in the first event of the morning, 200m Freestyle, inspiring students to get in and have a go across the 50m races. We were in the enviable position of having to move through events quickly in order to cater for the large number of competitors.
We saw a similar, high level of involvement from students participating in the continuous lane, all-in House relay and House chants. This resulted in a very tight finish to the day, with Shadforth pipping Rose by a mere 38 points. An exciting day!
Congratulations to all students on their wonderful behaviour and involvement in the day.
