HOLIDAY BORROWING
Students can borrow books from the library for the school holidays. All books borrowed will be due back on 31 January 2017. All overdue books must be returned before borrowing for the holidays. Students who do not return overdue books may not receive their copy of the “Thistle”, so please, do the right thing. If you can’t find a book please come in and speak to a staff member.
TURNING BACK TO BOOKS
A recent article in the Herald-Sun noted that “Tech savvy teens are throwing the book at e-readers, preferring to turn their own page of old fashioned books”. The pilot study commissioned by Deakin and Murdoch Universities surveyed more than 500 teens. Project leader Dr Leonie Rutherford said reading was “strongly tied to kids’ results in school and their chances of getting better jobs later”. Do you know what your child is reading?
2017
Major building work is planned for 2017 and this will impact on library services. More information will be provided next year.
