Key to the Golden Door of Freedom

Weekly Message

Hello Aspire CCPA, 

In honor of Black History Month, I share with you a quote from  George Washington Carver, an African American scientist, and educator who is best known for his inventions around the many uses for peanuts. 

"Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom"

To me, this quote is a reminder of why education is so important for young people.  It reminds me that education; whether it be a college degree, trade school, and/or any new skill someone wants to learn; opens endless doors for people. The outcomes are endless as long as we are willing to educate ourselves. With these tools and skills, we have the freedom to shape our futures and the world around us.

 Through hard work and determination, we have achieved many of our own personal goals throughout our lifetime. Our scholars, however, are still at the beginning of stages of identifying who they are and what they want to be. I ask all team members to continue to keep pushing, loving, and supporting ALL our students through this pivotal time in their lives. Let us help them open these doors for themselves.
