Soccer Skills with Connor
Soccer skills with Connor:
If you watch the short tv clips in the video you will see why it is so important to be able to dribble at speed, control the ball with different body parts and shoot with both feet.
All you will need to get ready for this lesson is the following equipment:
A soccer ball
Wall Space
Household items to use as cones such as soft toys
You could use 2 garden chairs as goal posts if you do not have a pop up goal
For the keepie-uppie challenge use a balloon to start.
Watch the attached video on Google slides

Some will be more challenging than others, just work at your own pace, speed up the skills as you go and remember to practice with both feet.
Coaching Points for Dribbling:
- Relaxed body (upper body over the ball)
- Eyes on the ball as well as the opponents feet when playing a game
- Head up when possible to see here opponents and team mates are.
- Soft, small touches.
- Close control of the ball.
Coaching points for Passing:
1. Select proper weight and timing of pass.
2. Look at your target (goal or team mate) before making the pass
3. Eyes on the ball at the moment of contact.
4. Good first touch to control and prepare ball.
5. Keep your toes up and the ankle locked of your kicking foot.
6. Place your non-kicking foot next to the ball, pass with your instep and follow through.

Art - Tuesday
This week we will be doing a 'still life drawing contour and shading in COLOUR'.
You are going to create another still life contour line drawing, but this week we are going to add shading to your object to create a 3D effect using COLOUR. Here is a video showing how to shade using pencils… it is a little long, but you can speed it up and watch the parts you need:
*YOU CAN CHOOSE TO MIX UP YOUR COMPOSITION OR USE THE SAME OBJECTS FROM LAST WEEK
Look at the examples provided if you need some inspiration...as you will be using colour this week!
Step 1- Arrange your objects/object. If you have A3 paper please use that, but A4 paper is fine.
Step 2- Start your contour line drawing, take your time and be sure to make sure you are looking at what you are drawing in front of you!
Step 3- Once you have done your contour drawing you will now add shading to help create a 3D look to your objects … but this week we are going to use colour pencils… if you have pastels or crayons you could use them instead !!!
Visual Example:
REFLECTION:
Once you have completed your artwork, I’d like you to reflect on what you learnt…Some questions to ask yourself.
What’s something new I learnt?
What did you find challenging about today's lesson?

Performing Arts - Thursday, Stop Motion Story Board
Over the next 3 weeks we will be creating a Stop Motion Film to present to your year group.
You are going to need to plan out your movie in advance and complete a storyboard. (Part of your assessment)
By planning your film it means:
- The audience have a thought out story line to follow and enjoy
- You save time by knowing what equipment you are going to need
- You know what order and types of shots to film etc.
This week’s task is to plan your story and to identify the shot types you will use, any sound effects that could be included to improve the audience’s enjoyment of your movie and what equipment you may need.
You can create/present your story board in any way you like. I have included an example on Google Classroom of what it could look like, but it’s up to you. Please upload your storyboard as it is part of your assessment for this term.
I have also included a short demo on Google Classroom created by a student to give you an idea of what your stop motion film could look like.
