Staffing updates

The beginning of Term 2 has seen the following staffing movements:

Departures

Lachlan Ludeman - Digital Learning and Innovation

Lachie is making a sea change with his wife and has secured employment in his new location – they are very lucky to have him!  Lachie has always applied his remarkable ICT knowledge in technical support, network administration and software development to all aspects of the College in a calm and measured manner.  We wish Lachie all the very best for the future and thank him for everything he has done for our students and staff over the last 8 years, we really appreciate it and we will miss you heaps! (Lachie provided the photo on his right highlighting the new setting for his daily walks.)

Ella Cogger - Counsellor

It is often with mixed emotions when a valued member of staff moves on to the next chapter in their life. Sad, because we will miss her smiling face, but at the same time very happy for Ella as she and Joel prepare for the birth of their first child. Ella has been a pivotal member of the Wellbeing team, offering tremendous support to our students and staff. She is a caring soul who always proactively looks to support others on an emotional and practical level. Thank you so much Ella and we wish you all the very best.

Georgina Russell  - Art Teacher

Georgina Russell has been part of the Arts Domain for 11 years and during this time Georgina has participated in a number of areas:

  • leading Year 9 surf camps and other extracurricular sporting activities
  • Year 8 Coordinator
  • Year 9 Live Life Coordinator, introducing the Duke of Edinburgh Award into the program
  • instigating Middle Years Art Exhibition
  • Arts Domain Leader

The students at KSC will miss  Georgina's warmth, generosity, friendliness and passion for teaching Art. Staff, both from Arts Domain and across Koonung, will really miss Georgina and we thank her so much for her amazing efforts and valued contribution to the Arts program. We wish Georgina and her family well for the impending new addition to their family.

Arrivals

We are delighted to welcome the following new faces to our team. What a time to start at Koonung. From day one, with remote learning in place at Koonung Secondary College, we could not have made it more challenging for our new members of staff. Hopefully it won't be too long before we are able to greet each other  face to face in the corridors.

Chloe Stimar (replacing Jonathan Moore whilst on leave)

I am a recent graduate from Monash University, completing a Bachelor of Arts (Majoring in History and Jewish Civilisation) in 2016, and a Masters of Secondary Teaching in November 2019. I have many years experience working in the non-for-profit sector as a leader at a community organisation, teaching children developmental and social skills through the framework of informal education. I am passionate about education and try to encompass my love for history in my everyday life.

You will see me on the weekend at the footy barracking for my beloved St Kilda, and hanging out with my newly adopted kitten, Ginki. I am excited to start my teaching career at Koonung Secondary College and I am looking forward to getting to know the students over the screen and in person.

Amanda Chen (replacing Clive Oldland whilst on leave)

Hello everyone! I am Amanda Chen. I am very excited to teach here at Koonung Secondary College, and it is my goal to provide a safe, productive, and supportive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to excel - academically, emotionally, and socially. I would love to make sure everyone gets what he or she needs to grow as a learner.

Eryn Tyler (replacing Ella Cogger)

I am a counsellor who enjoys working with young people to help them reach their full potential. I believe in advocating for adolescents on all issues related to wellbeing and mental health.

I have previously completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Swinburne and a Master of Counselling from Monash. It was during my studies I discovered my passion for wanting to work with young people and their families.

In my spare time, I like to hang out with my labrador named Harvey and going to the footy to support Richmond. I also enjoy enjoy going to the gym and reading.

I’m looking forward to working with the wonderful students at Koonung Secondary College. When you see me in the halls at school please feel free to say hello and introduce yourself!
