Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on Tuesday 26 March and Thursday 4 April. Please do make an appointment to meet with your child’s teachers. The interviews provide you with the opportunity to have a quick chat about your child’s progress. Interviews are 5 minutes each, if you would like a longer interview time, please contact the teacher to arrange an alternative time. After the interviews, it is always a good idea to sit down with your child and reflect on what was said and what the next step should be.

Year 8 Medieval Day

Medieval day, last week, was a great success. Year 8 students were involved in hands on activities which allowed them to further consolidate their learning in Humanities. Thank you to Mr Lawless for organising the day.

Year 9 Start Smart Program

The Start Smart program, a financial literacy program, commenced again for this year. The program is designed to get students thinking about spending, saving and part-time work and was attended by Year 9 students.

Year 9 Respect Ourselves Day

The Respect Ourselves Day for Year 9, was also held this week. The day’s aims are to get students thinking about how to navigate through their teenage years. Students were placed in all girl or all boy groups so that discussion felt comfortable and relaxed. It is hoped that after the program, students came away feeling more empowered and confident about themselves and their lives.

Dunhelen Cross Country

The Dunhelen Cross Country was a great experience for the students. Students who could not do the run, were encouraged to walk it. The cross country requires the participant to run/walk approx. 2kms around the school from the gymnasium, around the farm house and back. While it is a nice feeling for the participants who come first, second or third, the main sentiment should be that participating is more important. Involving yourself in activities at school, being part of a community and enjoying yourself are the things that should be valued and this is where the emphasise should be. Well done to all the students who took part.
