SCIENCE: Backyard Safari
The students in Year 2 have been investigating the schoolyard to find out what sort of creatures they might find there. We have found ants, worms, centipedes, slater bugs, beetle, butterflies and birds. Last week, the children took home an investigation sheet for their own backyard. They are invited to complete this worksheet for their Science homework and bring it back to school when it is done. They will share their findings with the class. Remember the Code for Caring!
SAINTS
In Religion we have been learning about God's Commandment of LOVE. Over the next couple of weeks we will look at some of the people who have set an example for us by following this Commandment. The students have been invited to find out more about the Saints by asking their parents to share some of their favourite stories about a Saint. They may like to investigate Saints that are special to their family, or maybe if they share their name with a Saint. We will also be researching Saints at school.
TALK HOMEWORK
This week the students will be writing about their favourite place in Australia. We have already been researching and discussing lots of places and hopefully they have already decided on which place they are going to write about. It is preferred they write about a place they have been to. Remember Talk Homework is JUST that...talking. Please don't feel you have to write up information for your children, they will write their own on Thursday. The places the students have chosen are very interesting and varied: Sydney, Melbourne, Yamba, Dubbo, Beaches, Gold Coast, Rainforests. Please keep an eye out for your childs' Talk Homework note and planning sheet.
