Cumberland

Ms Karen McArdle
Goodbye Announcement
It is with much sadness that I announce that I am leaving Aitken College at the end of the year. I was not looking for another position, but an opportunity arose and I was fortunate in being appointed the new Head of Junior School at St Catherine’s in Toorak.
I have loved everything about Aitken College. The Junior School staff are a wonderful team of people to work with and are so dedicated to the students they teach. It has been an honour working with them. I have also loved the students of Cumberland; they are so delightful and always have something to tell me. I have been fortunate to work and guide them in my time here.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Cumberland parents for making me feel so welcome and supporting me during my time here. I am very appreciative. I wish the school, staff and students continued success and the very best for their future.
Open Day Congratulations
Congratulations to the wonderful Year 6 Leaders and volunteers who took tours for Open Day last week. The students were very eager to take the tours and talk about their school. They conducted themselves very well, were courteous, wore their uniform with pride and were great ambassadors for the school. Many of the parents who went on the tours with our Cumberland leaders made a special effort to come back and see me to say how wonderful they thought our leaders and volunteers were. I was very proud of them!
Assemblies Showcase Student Achievement
Cumberland is full of very talented and hard-working students and every Assembly we award and acknowledge their achievements. To give you an idea of the talented students we have, I would like to give you a glimpse of our last two Assemblies, examples of many such Assemblies we have throughout the year.
