2018 Australasian Problem-Solving Mathematical Olympiads (APSMO) – Junior Division

Congratulations are extended to all students from our Year 5 and Year 6 team who participated in this year’s Junior Division of the Australian Problem-Solving Mathematical Olympiads (APSMO). The Maths Olympiads is a program where students use and develop their problem-solving skills and applied mathematics.

The select Year 5 and Year 6 students spent time during Terms, 1, 2 and 3 exploring problem-solving strategies and they enjoyed the buzz and challenge the program had to offer.  During Assembly, all team members were presented with certificates of achievement and special awards were given to the following team members for their outstanding individual achievement:

  • Alex M (Year 5) - for the highest score in the team and top 2% of overall scores across all participating schools
  • Andy F (Year 6) - for achieving a score in the top 10% of overall scores across all participating schools
  • Tatjana M (Year 6), Luke G (Year 6) and Alexander H (Year 5) - scored in the top 20% of all overall scores across all participating schools
  • Krisy I (Year 5), Rohan M (Year 5) and Jay P (Year 5) - scored in the top 25% of overall scores across all participating schools.
