In term 3, the Preps will continue to develop speaking and listening skills, revise colours and learn the numbers from 1-10. Sessions are conducted in Italian and the students will be learning to follow simple instructions and understand basic classroom language. Please encourage your child to share their Italian learning with you at home.
Year 1 and 2
Students spent time extending and revising vocabulary on greetings, feelings and talking about themselves. This term we will be learning about Italian food through a story called ‘Mangia, Mangia.” “Eat, Eat.”
Year 3 and 4
Students in grade 3 and 4 are continuing to revise greetings, feelings, the date and weather. The grade 3 students will learn about the origins of ‘gelato’ and make ‘gelato’. The grade 4 students will learn about Pasta.
Year 5and 6
Students are continuing to extend their spoken, listening and written Italian through vocabulary and phrases related to greetings, feelings, date and weather.
The grade 5 students will continue to practise their grammatical rules and sentence structure by writing a letter to their Pen-Pals who are also learning Italian at Manorvale Primary School in Werrbee.
Grade 6 students will be revising their frequent words, phrases and questions, and also learn to order food in Italian in preparation for our Lygon Street excursion at the end of term 3.
