Student of the Week Awards Presented 4/6/21

Adrian Y. - 00L

This award goes to Adrian for showing Excellence in maths this week. Adrian worked wonderfully with his team when he was sorting different 2D shapes. He also spent time carefully checking the sides of different shapes You are a Scoresby Superstar Adrian!

Jacob E. -  00N

Jacob is to be congratulated for being such a talented mathematician. He can easily identify 2 dimensional shapes in the classroom and outside. Congratulations Jacob we are all very proud of you. You are a Scoresby Superstar!

Kai C. - 1/2D

This week, Kai has demonstrated his confidence to tell the time to the o’clock – reading and showing it in both analogue and digital time. Kai has also been able to explain how he knows a time is at the o’clock by explaining where the minute and hour hand points to. Congratulations Kai – you’re a Scoresby mathematician!

Hayden A. - 1/2F

Hayden is receiving this award for displaying the HEART values of Excellence and Respect during PONT maths this week. He always listens to instructions and takes part in activities with a smile on his face. Hayden has demonstrated his ability to confidently tell the time to quarter hour. Keep up the great work, Hayden!

Hannah D. - 1/2K

For great work reading the analogue clock accurately to the minute and transferring analogue clocks to digital time. Well done Hannah you have worked really hard in PONT.

Bailey F. - 3/4C

The 3/4C award goes to Bailey for the ‘can do’ attitude she demonstrated when learning how to do 2-digit vertical subtraction. Bailey worked and thought like a mathematician by double checking her work when it didn’t make sense and practised with different equations. Well done Bailey!

Summer E. - 3/4E

During our PONT maths lessons this week, Summer has demonstrated a growth mindset when solving tricky equations. When learning about the part-part-whole method to understand the connection between addition and subtraction, Summer listened attentively and was able to accurately create four equations for each fact family. Congratulations Summer, you are a marvelous mathematician!

Darcy W. - 3/4S

Darcy is congratulated on the improvement he has made with the speed in which he answers basic number facts. Darcy was able to answer subtraction facts quickly and easily during PONT sessions. Well done Darcy. It is great to see you working hard in Maths sessions.

Blake C. - 5/6B

Blake has shown enthusiasm and persistence during our addition and subtraction PONT sessions. It has been fantastic to see Blake continuing to challenge himself in his learning and strive to improve in each lesson. It’s been wonderful to see you grow as a mathematician! Well done Blake.

Matthew B. - 5/6M

This award goes to Matthew for the persistence he showed when learning about addition and subtraction. Matthew demonstrated his understanding through concrete materials and the use of a number line. Recently, Matthew was also able to correctly sequence the days of the week and months of the year.

Arwen I. - 5/6W

Arwen is to be congratulated on her ability to consolidate and apply a variety of addition and subtraction strategies such as the split and vertical strategies. Well done Arwen! Keep up the wonderful work.

James W. - Performing Arts

This award acknowledges and congratulates James for the development of his skills, confidence and enthusiasm for the Performing Arts. In particular, James has demonstrated courage and determination as he commits to his drumming performance at assemblies each week. Keep up the great work and practicing James!

Darcy B. - Visual Arts

Students in 3/4 practised blending to create realistic apples and peaches for a still-life painting. Darcy worked carefully, applied new ideas after listening to feedback and demonstrated a very good understanding of colour. Your painting of a bowl of fruit is simply wonderful Darcy. Fantastic work and effort!

Edgar K. - Mandarin

This award acknowledges and congratulates Edgar for taking initiative in learning Mandarin this week. We have been learning numbers and saying two numbers that add up to be equal to one hundred. Edgar has worked out how to say "fifty and fifty are equal to one hundred" in Mandarin. Well done!
