Chaplain's Corner

Hi Everyone!

It’s great to see everyone, staff and students, refreshed after their two-week break!  I enjoyed the sunshine while gardening and catching up with friends, two of my ‘CIRCUIT BREAKERS’.

Circuit breakers act as resettable fuses. These are automatically operated electrical switches that protect electrical circuits from overloading or short circuiting.

WHAT ARE YOUR ‘CIRCUIT BREAKERS’, you know, those activities that enable you to reset your ‘batteries’ and put things into perspective, allow adjustment, and enable you to reflect and to move forward with renewed strength and insight.  THOSE ACTIVITES THAT ‘PROTECT’ OUR MENTAL HEALTH & GIVE US BRAIN BREAKS.  These activities also promote our physical and emotional health.

Hopefully some of you and your families enjoyed time away.  Perhaps you made time for some of your favourite activities.  Maybe you found some quiet ‘me’ time.

I find that some students who are struggling to maintain concentration in class are experiencing ‘overload’ and need a quick ‘circuit breaker’ like a game outside, a board game, mindfulness and deep breathing.  Often that is all it takes so that they can return to the classroom ready to learn after ‘resetting’.

Don’t let busyness, time, guilt, negative thoughts and feelings get in the way of your or your children’s CIRCUIT BREAKERS.  CIRCUIT BREAKERS will go a long way to protecting your and your children from anxiety and depression.  May you enjoy many little CIRCUIT BREAKERS throughout the term.

LOCKDOWN ANNOUNCED - I HAVE JUST HEARD!  WHEN TENSIONS MAY RISE AT HOME, DON'T FORGET YOUR 'CIRCUIT BREAKERS' .  WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS!  SEE YOU SOON!

Take care!
