Principal's Report

Look who Mrs Thornton found at the Big Red Bash in Birdsville!! Meredith Thornton had a fantastic time at the most remote outback Festival in the world!

I extend my thanks to the ACPS community who has once again snapped back into remote learning for a fifth time. It's so disappointing that we didn't even make it through the first week of school and here we are again.

For those families who do not have Konnective, please see the following correspondence that was sent out last night...

It is with regret that the following special events have had to be cancelled during this lockdown:

Today - Bridges K-F Transition

Monday - 3/4 Science Incursion

Tuesday - Italian Day - Please refer to Ginevra's report in the L'Angolo Italiano tab.

Over the last few years our community has missed out on a number of school and community events as a result of bushfire threat, storms and Covid. These events assist in promoting and building school community  and the students love these days. Missing out on Warrandyte Festival, camps, sport, Education week, Italian Day, excursions, incursions and more can most certainly compromise morale and community spirit. We look forward to planning a whole school event as soon as restrictions allow us to bring our whole school community together.

Please remember to wear a mask when you come to school and use the QR code when entering any building. I also ask that parents who are eligible for their children to attend onsite learning on Monday and/or Tuesday, call the school on 9844 2757 to book them in.

Students in the following categories are eligible to attend onsite learning:

  • Children where both parents and or carers are considered authorised workers who cannot work from home, work for an essential provider and where no other supervision arrangements can be made:
  • Where there are two parents/carers, both must be essential workers, working outside the home in order for their children to be eligible for on-site provision.
  • For single parents/ carers, the essential worker must be working outside the home in order for their children to be eligible for on-site provision.
  • Children experiencing vulnerability, including:
    • children in out-of-home care
    • children deemed vulnerable by a government agency, funded family or family violence service, and assessed as requiring education and care outside the family home
    • children identified by a school or early childhood service as vulnerable, (including via referral from a government agency, or funded family or family violence service, homeless or youth justice service or mental health or other health service)

Please take care of yourselves and others during this lockdown and we look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Wednesday. (fingers crossed)

Regards
