Vale Markie

It is with the deepest sadness that I report our treasured school horse Markie is no longer with us. On Monday, Markie suffered from a sudden onset of Colic. The vet believed he had an underlying growth in his abdomen causing the obstruction. After an intensive 24 hours of treatment the difficult decision was made that it was best for Markie to be put to sleep.

Markie officially became a College staff member in 2010 and has patiently worked with our students for the last 11 years. It has broken all our hearts to say goodbye to Markie. He had such a cheeky, unique personality.  He was gentle and kind in teaching many of our students to ride, and giving them confidence to move on with their riding into the future. Markie will always be remembered as one of our most treasured staff members. We thank him with all our hearts for his service to our students.
