PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

MS MICHELLE HAEUSLER - PRINCIPAL

The rain over the past few weeks has been wonderfully refreshing. The cold mornings make it hard to get motivated sometimes, however we must remember that without the rain our earth and many people’s livelihoods cannot survive. So I am grateful for the rain that we receive and hope that it is enough to sustain our community.

It was great to hear that most activities are now able to be held again. With a large number of students and families that are committed to sporting events each weekend it certainly helps us all with our mental health to be able to be active and with our friends and family again. Restrictions continue to lift for schools as well, and we are now able to hold school tours again. If you, or someone that you know, would like a tour of the school please make contact with the school office. Tours can be arranged in the first week of the school holidays and from the first day of Term 3.

Enrolment Applications for Year 7 2022

Enrolment applications for Year 7 2022 have been coming in steadily. If you have a child that you would like to enrol in Year 7 2022, please ensure that your enrolment application has been submitted by Monday 12th July. We have an enrolment cap and would not want our current families to miss out on a place. Please contact Damien Hirst or Emma Webb if you have any questions. Year 7 enrolment interviews will begin on Monday 26th July, with the second Transition Day scheduled for Tuesday 27th July.

As most members of our community would be aware, from the first day of Term 3 students must lock their mobile phone in their locker for the duration of the school day. The exceptions to this are students with medical conditions that require access to a mobile phone and our Year 12 students, who may carry their phone on their person.

With this change to mobile phone use we are aware that some students use their mobile phone to purchase items at the canteen. Students might prefer to arrange for a card to continue this purchasing habit, or we have set up an online lunch order purchasing system called CDF Pay. Online ordering will be familiar to many parents, as many Primary Schools already use this system. In the letter that I will send to parents and guardians, next week full details will be provided as to how to set up an account and instructions on how to order. We are hoping that this will also boost the lunch orders through the canteen, who provide a wide range of healthy food options for our students.

I wish everyone in our community a relaxing school holiday break. I look forward to continuing our learning journey in Term 3.
