P.E.

Unfortunately with the recent lockdowns we have had to postpone numerous events in what would have been a very action packed fortnight in the P.E. department. Our Regional Cross Country event, the Grade 4 AFL 9s Football Gala Day and the Athletics Trials have all had to be rescheduled and we are still awaiting confirmation of these new dates.

We have been fortunate enough to secure a new booking at Casey Fields for our Oatlands Athletics Carnival which will be held on Monday August the 23rd. We have our fingers crossed that we will experience lots of sunshine and a fun day out for all. Further information regarding the possibility of having spectators at the event will be sent out closer to the date. Hopefully by then restrictions will have been eased so that we can welcome the wider Oatlands community.

We did however sneak one event in just before lock down. On July the 15th we had students from Grades 5 and 6 compete in a District Basketball competition at Dandenong Stadium. We had 4 (2 girl’s and 2 boys ) teams  competing in different divisions. Our students exceled on the day, working well within their teams and demonstrating fantastic sportsmanship in every match. Our girl’s A team were undefeated and will progress to the next round of competition. Our girl’s B team won 3 games and lost 1. Our boy’s A team won 2 and lost 2 games and our boy’s B team won 1 and lost 3. Congratulations to all the students who took part in this event.
