NAIDOC Week Visit

In Week 10, a group of ATSI students from Yr 9 - 12 attended the Minimbah NAIDOC Day. The students got heavily involved in the activities and had a great time helping out and mixing with the younger students and community members. This was great practice for our ATSI students as we will be celebrating NAIDOC Week later in the year when the weather is warmer and more suitable.

Founders Day

Founders Day 2021 did not disappoint. It was a wonderful way to come together as a College and celebrate our founders and the mission that they undertook which results in what we represent as a school in 2021.

The Day commenced with a gold coin donation which added to our fundraising tally for the Rural Kidney Foundation.

A WORTHY CAUSE: Jess gives her donation, contributing to our overall tally of over $4000.

Staff and students entered the chapel to participate in a whole school Mass which was celebrated by Bishop Hanna and Father Roel. We welcomed some visitors to join us including Mr Tony Spiller who explained the significance of the Spiller Cup.

FOUNDERS DAY MASS: An annual tradition to give thanks for and celebrate our founders.

Next, a panel of past students were interviewed about what they loved about our College. Our College Leaders also held a trivia quiz on all things O'Connor!

OUR ALUMNI INFORM US:  Our students learnt about the history of O'Connor from those who were there.

HISTORY AS ENTERTAINMENT: A trivia quiz run by our senior students twigged our curiosity.

Our Founder's Day Concert was a wonderful showcase of the creative and performing arts talents of some of our students and staff. It was great to see so much participation.
