Winter Wonderland Disco

Thank you to all the students who attended the disco last Friday evening. What a hoot! It was brilliant. 

Thank you to David Cosma, Danny Eschbach, and Richard Rose, who helped to set up the sound system, and the parents who came early to decorate the hall. 

Thank you to Lance Greenwood and family, for front of house organisation, and thank you to the parents and staff members who worked hard behind the scenes. 

Finally, a very special thank you to my co-conspirator: - DJ Ice!

This year we had a record attendance of 450 students (>82% of all students) – our biggest disco ever, with lots of “this is the best night of my life” comments going around!  Foundation were the standout with I think all but 8 students joining us for their first IPS disco.  

We’re really lucky at IPS to have parents and staff who support events like this, creating fantastic memories and a great community for all.  Special thanks to our teacher DJs (Marie Morrow and Penelope Blanas) and a very big thankyou to Annette in the canteen for supporting our night and very generously donating all the ice creams and icy poles this year – make sure you thank her if you see her!  And of course thankyou to my daughters (Elizabeth now in Yr 11 and Clare in Grade 6) for running the canteen, and the crew of parents and staff who helped make the night a success.  

I couldn’t have done it without you all.  It’s the last year at IPS for the Greenwoods, so a final thank you to every staff member, every parent and every student who have helped make the disco (and every other event) such a great success every year.

Peter and the Wolf

Ivanhoe Primary has a enjoyed a long association with the Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra (HSO). 

Every year, the HSO perform Prokofieff’s, ‘Peter and the Wolf’ as a special event for children and families. It’s a delightful concert that everyone loves. If you go along, be sure to look out for our Strings teachers and old scholars.
