ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask your child to write an information report about a topic of their choice. Once they have written a rough draft, read through it with them, checking it against the following checklist;

  • Title - Clear indication of what the topic is
  • Introduction- Introduces the reader to the topic
  • Subheadings- Headings that let the reader know what the information that follows will be about
  • Paragraphs- Organised information
  • Conclusion- A statement that closes the information report
  • Diagram- A picture about the topic

While reading through the information report, question your child through how they could up-level their work.
