Celebrating our terrific Twos!

Literacy 

We have concluded our unit on procedural texts with writing our procedures based on the ‘How to Sneak Your Monster Into School’ book and attempting to follow them. Our teams were successful in sneaking our monsters into particular rooms in the school.  

In reading, we have been building our focus on summarising non-fiction texts to include our previous learning of identifying the main idea and supporting details. 

Numeracy 

We have begun looking at arrays and how this strategy helps us to count and solve for a collection of items efficiently using skip counting, repeated addition and multiplication. We identified some arrays in the real world, such as the windows of a building and the way we organise cookies on a baking tray. 

Wellbeing 

In our Respectful Relationships and Resilience Project sessions, we have been recognising the ways in which stress can be felt in our bodies. We have also focused on identifying and using strategies to deal with emotions such as fear, anger and sadness.
