Working Bee

Thanks to all the families who were able to contribute to the school's working bee last Saturday. There were a long list of jobs and thanks to our fabulous community we were able to get through them. The new mulch was spread around the play equipment, new soccer nets installed, windows were cleaned, trees planted, weeds removed and many more jobs. Thanks to Camp Australia who provided the food for the BBQ which was very much appreciated by our volunteers.

NAPLAN

As a staff we have had a look at the "big picture" NAPLAN results for 2023 and it is pleasing that once again Monty PS is performing to a very high standard. Schools are ranked against other schools across Victoria that are similar to ours as well as schools in our network, or local area. In both of these measures, Monty is performing better than other schools in almost all 10 areas of NAPLAN, which includes Grade 3 and 5, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation and Numeracy. It is a credit to the whole school community for these outstanding results.

100 Days of Foundation

Our two Foundation classes participated in a day of fun and exciting activities last week when they celebrated their 100th day of school. The students dressed up- and they looked amazing! It was great to see such enthusiasm and joy as the students and teachers celebrated this milestone together. Well done to the Foundation team and thanks to the parents for putting in a huge effort to support this special day.

Athletics

We enjoyed spending part of the Athletics Carnival with our senior students last week. We were impressed with the fabulous school spirit that was on display, the effort that all students put into their events and the admirable sportsmanship demonstrated both before and after the events. It was also wonderful to see so many parents and family members in attendance, cheering on our students. Thanks to the senior team for organising the day, in particular Mr Mitch, and good luck to all the students who have qualified to compete at the district level.

Take care, everyone,
