Everybody Welcome!
Update on the $2,000 School Breakfast Clubs Program appliance grant!
In term 1 Glen Eira College received a $2,000 School Breakfast Clubs Program appliance grant from the Victorian government, to support delivery of the Schools Breakfast Club programs!
We acknowledge the generous contribution from The Good Guys and Foodbank Victoria in coordinating the logistics and administration of the appliance grant. Subsequently, the GEC Breakfast Club is abundantly equipped to deliver variety and quality breakfasts every week throughout the school year. The storeroom looks complete with:
- One new large Breville Sandwich Press.
- Two robust Breville Toast Control 4 slice Toasters.
- One Kitchen Aid Empire Red Blender for smoothies and juices.
- One good quality Breville Rice Cooker for our special Indian and Japanese breakfasts.
- One Hisense Refrigerator for fresh bread, butter, cheese, milk for cereals, mini milks, crispy cold apples, pears, oranges, carrots, fruit cups, tinned fruit, and baked beans.
- One Hisense Vertical Freezer to better manage storage of bread loaves from Foodbank and Bakers Delight Carnegie.
Breakfast & Lunch Food Hampers
The Breakfast Club at Glen Eira College can support students who may not have access to enough food at home. Each food hamper, otherwise known as "school holiday pack" contains enough breakfast food, snacks and lunches to help support one student for two weeks. These can be picked up from the school. Please contact the school on 9571 7838 to let Reception know you'd like a hamper put aside for you to pick up.
