Media and Podcasting Workshop
On Friday, 6 September 2019 select students from Year 8 – 12 took part in a Media and Podcasting workshop hosted by past St. Peter’s College student Tim Bolch. Since graduating Tim has worked around Australia presenting Breakfast Radio.
Tim used his industry expertise to teach the students about creating content for podcasts and commercials, using sponsors, working to a target audience and how to edit their work to a professional standard.
The students created their own podcast and radio commercials in small groups using Adobe Audition, leaving the workshop with a completed podcast and industry knowledge and contacts.
Thanks to Tim for travelling down for the afternoon from Albury to run the workshop and thank you to the students who gave up their Friday afternoon to take part in this exciting workshop.
‘Through the incursion I have learnt about how to make the podcast. We came up with the idea through just thinking that general talk would be easy and simple. The presenters was awesome and made me learn a lot. I recommend this to other people and we should have more of this’.
- Bishoy Megally Year 8
‘The podcasting workshop was a very informative and fun experience. We were able to record our own short podcast and edit it later using a specialised software which we learned to use. The whole workshop provided us with valuable experience and knowledge and allowed us to expand beyond the traditional confines of school’.
– Ashwin Palanisamy Year 12
‘We learnt how to come up with ideas for a podcast including content, theme and the name of a podcast. I felt kind of weird having to listen to my own voice considering how different it sounds’.
– Tony Jnr Lupeamanu Year 10

Youth Arts Competition
Casey Creations is a youth arts competition. It is an opportunity for students to unleash their creative talents. There is a junior, intermediate and senior section in the Visual Arts, Photography and Short Film. I encourage everyone to have a go.
