Well-Being

Student Voice

‘Student Voice’ is an important concept in education today. Student voice involves students actively participating in their schools, communities and the education system, contributing to decision making processes and collectively influencing outcomes by putting forward their views, concerns and ideas (DEET).

St. Peter's College Students have their say about this critical topic

The value we place on Student Voice at St. Peter’s is evident in our annual Bullying Survey and the Student Workshops which followed to develop a student response to the Survey data. Small groups of students considered the survey findings and determined ways they could share this information with the rest of the student population. The posters will be displayed throughout the college.

Workshop One:

Students from both campuses worked collaboratively to create a set of student friendly posters designed to challenge St. Peter’s students to recognise bullying behaviour in themselves and others. The posters seek to empower students to take affirmative action to support the victim/s of bullying behaviours.

Workshop Two:

Year 7 students at the Clyde North Campus responded to the Survey data by creating posters designed to rally St. Peter’s College students to eliminate bullying behaviour within the school community.

Well done to all the student voices, together we can eliminate bullying.

Special thanks to our Wellbeing Team for their support in organising these wonderful workshops.
