School Production

Expressions of interest for our production cast and crew went out two weeks ago and were due back by Friday last week. It's been wonderful to see the enthusiasm of the students for this event - we received over 100 expressions of interest from our Grade 5 and 6 students!

If your child indicated that they were interested in auditioning for the main cast, they will have received a time for their audition in either Week 8 or Week 9 of this term. As was explained to the children, the character they are rehearsing for their audition may not have been their first preference, but preferences will be taken in to account when casting for the production.

All children auditioning have been given a portion of the script to prepare. When the children do their auditions, we will be assessing vocal expression, articulation, projection, facial expression, body language, gesture and how well they convey their character's personality. Children are being given time in their Performing Arts classes to prepare, and you can also help your child prepare at home by supporting them in learning their lines, listening to them read their character and giving feedback on their performance.

School Choir

Due to the time currently involved in running auditions and rehearsals for our school production, the commencement of choir rehearsals is postponed until further notice. All children, from Foundation to Grade 6 will be involved in the production and so all children will have the opportunity to work in cohorts to learn a choreographed song to perform.

Instrumental Music Lessons

Please remember that we offer private instrumental tuition at BPPS! We have several talented teachers, offering lessons on the piano, guitar, drums, violin, 'cello, flute , saxophone and vocal lessons.
