Le Français

Bonjour et bienvenue à la sixième semaine du trimestre!

Students in grade 5 and 6 have been practising French vocabulary to hone their skills in listening and writing about emotions. They  have practised for short spelling and translation tests on the first verse of the song "Les émotions" by Alain Le Lait.

Why not practise these at home with your children?

"Quelquefois je suis heureux,

et quelquefois je suis triste.

Quelquefois je suis surpris,

Et quelquefois je m'ennuie!"

The second verse of the song, along with its chorus, will be the focus for the remainder of the term and students can practise this at home using the French activity posted on Seesaw.

Grade 3 and 4 are continuing with the words of a song about sport and they are challenging themselves to memorise it and post it on Seesaw as evidence of their progress in memorisation and pronunciation in French.

Why not practise these sentences at home with your grade 3 and 4 child?

"Je joue au foot dans le jardin,

Je joue au tennis à l'école,

je fais du ski dans le montagnes,

je fais de la voile sur le lac...

toute la journée!

Foundation students are working well on learning phrases from their song "Bonjour mes amis"  which can be found on Seesaw. This week they are recording with a partner the following words "Bonjour, comment t'appelles-tu?, je m'appelle, au revoir!"

Grade1and 2 are practicing how to say "J'aime" and "je n'aime pas" while they create a visual poster  on fruit they like and don't  like.

Students from Grade 3-6 will be doing more recordings and listening to activities on Seesaw and Languagenut, a fantastic French learning app that students can also use at home. Please remember that headphones are an essential tool to bring to class along with iPads.

À la prochaine! Till next time!
