News from the 5/6 classrooms

STEM

Grade 5/6 students have enjoyed using our new STEM room to work on STEM activities. In our first session of STEM, our challenge was to construct a model of the Eiffel Tower to scale using available materials. We followed the STEM process. First we had to research the dimensions of the real Eiffel Tower and plan how to make it to scale and what materials would be best to use. We then created our model using the measurements investigated.

In our second session of STEM this term we chose our own landmark from around the world. We once again had the challenge to create this landmark to scale. We started with researching and planning before creating our model. We then reflected on what was challenging and what we could do better next time.

Can you recognise some of our famous landmarks?
