Principal's Message

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

We all found it a little unusual starting the school day today as the dark clouds loomed above the school. Fortunately, the music went for the children to head inside just as the rain started to come down.

This fortnight's newsletter contains a great deal of news and information so I will try to be brief in what I have to share on my page.

ONLY 1 WEEK UNTIL OUR COLOUR EXPLOSION!!!

Please ensure you read this important page in this week's newsletter

Uniform Changes

This year we will commence the introduction of the following changes to our school uniform.

  • A navy blue/sky/maroon check tunic will replace the grey tunic.
  • Navy pants and shorts will replace grey shorts and pants.

These changes were presented to the community last year and samples were placed in the foyer for parent feedback. This change was also discussed at the COHR School Advisory Council. The response to these changes was overwhelmingly positive. These changes will take place over the next few years.

I have spoken with staff from PSW regarding the availability of stock. They already have the navy pants and shorts in stock for both boys and girls.

The tunics will be available during the school holidays.

Please note that students may continue to wear their summer uniform in Term 2 if the weather is still warm.  Students will gradually move into the winter uniform as the weather cools down.

At this point in time we do not want to be putting financial pressure on families and so we are not expecting this change to be immediate. This transition will take a few years.

The tunic and pants/shorts will be on display in the foyer should parents wish to take a look.

Enhancing Catholic School Identity (ECSI) Survey

Thank you to those families who have completed the ECSI survey.  The survey instructions can be accessed via the following link.

When you access the survey for the first time you will be asked to enter as a 'New User' , our school’s access code is X7dK8G

Thank you for your consideration of this request and for your anticipated participation.

Assembly

Tomorrow morning at assembly we will have the ABC Music Group promoting their music program which will be offered here at COHR commencing in Term 2. Parents interested in knowing more about the program are most welcome to come along to assembly.

Take care and keep safe
