A reminder to parents that if anything goes wrong with their child's laptop, the College has great IT help staff who can solve many problems. We can repair or replace most issues, but there are three problems not covered by our insurance that you should be aware of;

  1. Regularly remind your child to be careful when transporting and storing their laptop. Laptop screens are fragile and while most laptops have a protective shell now, they are not immune to being dropped. Unfortunately the screen is not covered by our insurance policy and will need to be replaced at your expense (approx. $600) if broken. We can arrange repairs if needed and invoice you.
  2. The charger and stylus (about $60 each) are also not covered by our insurance policy so make sure they are labelled and kept safe.
  3. Liquid damage is not covered by our insurance. This year we have already had three laptops destroyed by spills. Please be very careful not to have cups of drink near the keyboard.

Most families have a process now for charging the laptop each night. Thanks! Just remember to make a plan if students are moving between houses, or their routines are disrupted. Coming to school with a flat laptop can make for a difficult day.

We encourage parents to have regular conversations with their children about the importance of taking care of their laptops. By working together, we can help ensure that students have the necessary tools to succeed in their learning journey. Thank you for your continued support.

With just under three weeks until the Easter school holidays, now is the time to make your bookings for our School Holidays Care program. With excursions to the movies, the park and on board the Lady Nelson as well as activities such as gardening and making mosaics, there is something to keep everyone engaged.

Full details of the program, including how to book, were emailed to families yesterday. If you have any queries, please contact the College Office.
