This Friday (March 10), we are fortunate to be joined by Australian string quartet ‘Nomad’ who will be working with some of our Senior School string students. The quartet will begin their session at Kinross Wolaroi with a short concert, which will be attended by all our string students across both schools. This includes K-6 students who are currently receiving individual tuition on violin, viola, cello or double bass.
The concert will run from 1.30-2pm in the Music Centre. If your child has a music lesson at this time, they should attend their lesson instead. Students will be met and accompanied to the concert with Mrs Sinclair. They will return in time for the House Muster in Period 6.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our young string players to see a live performance of an extremely high calibre and will undoubtedly be a source of inspiration for our students.
Congratulations to the group of musicians who took to the stage last Friday (3 March) as part of the entertainment at the Windermere Open Day. Thank you to all our musicians for preparing pieces to play during the afternoon and being so flexible. The attendees (human and animal!) certainly enjoyed the atmosphere the live music created, and it was wonderful to see our students producing great work so early in the year.

The Gala Opening of Orange’s Chamber Music Festival will be held in the DPA this Friday night, 10 March. Whilst the main event commences at 7pm, our Thompson Ensemble will be performing in the foyer from 6:30pm and we encourage you to come along to support Mrs Moxey and our wonderful string players.
In addition, there will be a number of free events across Orange on Saturday – please see the flyer below for further details. Of particular note are performances by KWS staff Lorraine and Luke Moxey, 11am at the Orange City Library and a performance by ex-student, Rachel Kwa at 1:30pm at the Regional Gallery.
