Around the Junior School

What’s been happening in Pre-Kinder?

The children in Pre-Kinder love it when the dress-ups are in the playground as it adds a deeper more meaningful level to their play. They can really become engrossed in the character they are playing and this can assist their confidence as they are making new friends.

Dressing up and imaginative play is an important part of children’s development. Playing dress-ups allows for experimentation, role-play and fantasy which enhances their emotion, cognition, language and sensory motor skills. Role-play encourages children to practicing speech and language, taking turns and cooperation, which develops their social skills.

SRC – Student Representative Council

On Friday 3 March, students who were elected for the Student Representative Council for Semester 1 received their badges at the Junior School Assembly. Students are feeling very excited to be representing their classes for Semester 1! Listening to the ideas of their peers to make positive changes around the school and assisting in many events happening this year are just a few of the privileges these students have as SRC leaders.
