Using The Hub and Hub App - Webinar for Parents

Parents and carers are invited to participate in a webinar on using the school's portal,  'The Hub' and how to access our new Hub App.

 

The webinar is designed to assist parents to navigate The Hub, to find the information they need, and to access information about their children.

On Tuesday 28 March, Kinross Wolaroi will be hosting guest speaker Susan McLean to speak on cyber safety. We invite all Junior and Senior School parents to join us at 6pm in the DPA.

 

Susan McLean, former Victorian Police Officer for 27 years, is Australian’s leading expert in all areas of cyber safety. McLean is widely known as being the ‘cyber cop’ after being the first Victorian Police Officer to be positioned working in cyber safety and young people. McLean’s mission is to make cyber safety straightforward common sense, as she gives parents and teachers the understanding to be able to manage the many fears that come with internet usage confidently and effectively.

We’re inviting local preschoolers to come along for a fun morning of free activities at our Try Kinder Day on Thursday 4 May. 

 

The idea of big school is so exciting for four-year-olds …  and that’s why we’re offering this special experience for parents to learn more about Kindergarten at Kinross Wolaroi School. 

 

You and your child will get to taste a little bit of everything we have to offer: 

9.00am - 9.15am - Registration and welcome

9.15am - 9.30am - InitiaLit demonstration lesson in the Kinder classroom 

9.35am - 9.50am: Library for story 

9.55am - 10.10am: Music 

10.15am - 10.30am: Sport in the Round Garden 

10.35am - 10.50am: Glasshouse for morning tea10.50am: Junior School Tour with Mrs Hayward (Head of Junior School)  

 

While your child meets with a Kinder buddy, we’ll provide a delicious morning tea for parents to enjoy, including a seminar for parents on preparing your child for a smooth transition to school.

Kinross Wolaroi School will be attending the Dubbo Boarding Expo on Friday 5 May and Saturday 6 May at the Dubbo Regional Theatre & Convention Centre. The Expo is a great opportunity to meet with members of our Senior Management Team and Admissions Team, and to learn more about our beautiful school.  We'd love to see you there - please encourage friends and family with an interest in a Kinross Wolaroi School education for their child to come along.

Graduates from the Class of 1973 and earlier are warmly invited to our 2023 Golden Alumni Luncheon.

 

As our first Golden Alumni gathering since 2020, the classes of 1971, 1972 and 1973 are especially encouraged to join us to celebrate being 50 years on. The day will include tours of the PLC and Wolaroi campuses, high tea, a celebration assembly and luncheon.

 

Partners, family members or support people are most welcome to attend.

 

Golden Alumni Schedule:                                                                                            

8.50am – 10.15am Tour of the PLC Campus followed by High Tea (optional)

10.00am – 11.45am Registration at the Derek Pigot Auditorium, Wolaroi Campus – Morning tea and archive display in the Auditorium

10.15am Bus transfer (or own transport) from PLC Campus to Wolaroi Campus

10.30am Wolaroi Campus Tour (optional)

11.00am Refreshments and archive display in the Auditorium

11.45am Golden Alumni Assembly, hosted by the Principal, Dr Andrew Parry

12.15pm Bus transfer (or own transport) to the Orange Ex-Services Club

12.30pm Golden Alumni Luncheon – includes a two-course lunch, drinks, and formalities.

2.00pm Lunch concludes.
