Excursion to NGV - Alexander McQueen "Mind, Mythos, Muse"

On a very hot Friday afternoon 25 Textiles students and 2 staff made their way to the NGV in St Kilda Road to view the most amazing exhibition of fashion pieces and artworks by the British Fashion designer Alexander Mc Queen.  The exhibition brought together over 120 garments from his many collections and showcased them in some of the most original and inspiring ways. Students made their own way through the exhibition and marvelled at the many ways he used and manipulated fabrics, textiles techniques and colour and pattern. Many students were moved by his storytelling through his clothing pieces. It was a wonderful way to spend a Friday afternoon Textiles class.
