First Sunday Of Lent: 26th February

This Sunday we celebrate the first Sunday of Lent. 

Lent is our preparation time for Easter which lasts for six weeks.

In  Gospel this weekend we will hear how Jesus spent 40 days in the desert. We reflect on times when we have had desert-like experiences and remember that God is always present in our lives when we are feeling sad, lonely and hopeless.

Lenten Prayer: 

Loving God,

help us to remember your promise to be with us always,

to guide us in our lives and bring us closer to you.

In this special time of Lent,

we pray that you strengthen us in our desert times,

and trust in you with all our hearts.

We ask this prayer through Jesus, your Son.

Amen

Alter Service Year 3-6 Required Urgently 

Yesterday Father Andrew spoke to students from Years 3-6 about assisting him in church with Altar Serving. Father urgently needs assistance at Masses and is urging the students to volunteer for one Mass a month. The Mass can be any time that you choose. If at any time students need to cancel due to other commitments, as long as Father is made aware that is fine. The students can be dropped off and Father will meet them in the foyer 15 minutes before Mass. Can you please fill in the reply slip which was sent home with your child yesterday and return it to the school office by Thursday March 2nd. A roster will then be organised and will be issued to your child. We thank you for supporting Father.
