Annual privacy reminder for our school community

Our school collects, uses, discloses and stores student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ Privacy Policy.

Please take time to read our school’s collection notice, found on our website and linked here. We ask parents to also review the guidance we provide on how we use Google Workspace for Education  (Grade 4-6 only) safely at the school and what parents can do to further protect their child’s information. If after reviewing the guidance, you have any questions or concerns regarding your child using Google Workspace for Education, please contact the school.

For more information about privacy, refer to: Schools’ Privacy Policy — information for parents.

Whole School Priorities for the first half of Term 1

Our teachers have done an outstanding job to establish clear expectations and routines in and beyond the classroom. Our key priorities for this term are:

  1. Teachers designing and implementing Numeracy assessments that support the planning for sequences of learning.
  2. Teachers working with students to develop personal learning goals for Math, Reading and Writing
  3. Teachers establishing classroom routines, engaging with Berry St strategies such as the Welcoming Circles each day.

Parent Engagement @ Langy Park

This year we will be continuing to work our hardest as a school to find different ways to engage you with your child's learning.

Recently we had our 'Meet the Teacher' interviews. I thank all parents and carers who attended his interview. We hope this was a positive experience for you and a way for establishing a positive relationship with your child's teacher.

It is vitally important that a positive relationship and open communication is maintained between home and school. It is important that when you have a concern about your child, please make the  teacher your first port of call. As importantly, please make sure that you make contact with their teacher to acknowledge the positive things that are happening at school.  As a classroom teacher for nearly 20 years, I know those were the conversations that made my day! I set you all the challenge of giving your child's teacher a positive appraisal within the next week.

Curriculum Day (Monday 20th February)

Just a reminder we have a Curriculum Day (student free) on Monday. All our staff will be involved in Day 3 Berry St training.

School Photos

Another reminder that our school photos are next Friday. We will let you know the timetable for the day once it is finalised.

I would like to thank everyone in our community for making the start of our school year such a happy and positive one for all our kids.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Cheers

Richard
