From Julie's Desk ....

So much fun!

Walking around the school has been so ‘bucket filling’ lately.  There is nothing better as a teacher to visit classrooms on a daily basis, to not only see children engaged and learning, but energetic staff with smiles on their faces.  We are very fortunate at CHPS to have such a dedicated team.

Attendance

This year our aim (as in all years!) is to achieve the highest level of school attendance that we can.  Please make sure that if your child is going to be away, that you log it on Compass with the reason for the absence.

Remember ‘Parent Choice’ is not a valid reason unless authorised by the Principal.

For those whose children have needed to be away from school, can you please make sure that you don’t have any ‘Unexplained’ absences listed in your child’s attendance.  If you do, please select the relevant dates and ‘explain with a note’.

In the coming weeks, classroom teachers will be reaching out to you if absences are ‘unexplained’.  It is so important for children to attend school as much as possible.  Please click here for more information as to why.

Uniform…Thank you

Thanks for your support with ensuring that all children are in correct uniform.  We will continue to make this a focus.  Please contact me if you require assistance to purchase uniform items.

Smile Squad is coming!

Shortly you will be receiving information via Compass about Smile Squad, including a QR code where you can register your child.  This is a free dental service being offered to any student (not just those who meet thresholds). Smile Squad will be visiting in the 2nd week of Term 2.

Reminder – It is Curriculum Day this coming Monday, 20th February.  During this day all staff will be participating in a full day workshop, facilitated by Glen Pearsall, on Learning and Engagement.  We can’t wait!

Until next time,

Julie Reid  -  Assistant Principal, Wellbeing and Inclusion
