OUR COLLEGE ENVIRONMENT

Dromana College offers an outstanding learning environment and provides a quality education for students in Year 7 to 12. Almost all students travel to the College via bus. Our location amongst tranquil bush land with magnificent views over Port Phillip Bay adds unique character to our culture of learning and achievement.

The College recognises the traditional owners of our land, the Bunurong people, and we pay our respect to them by naming our home groups using traditional Indigenous names.

Students are our greatest resource. Their willingness to embrace our clearly defined values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity and Personal Best, allow students to reach their full potential.

The Year 7 academic program focuses on building students core skills and providing them with access to all eight Learning Domains. Students are able to complete their schooling at Dromana College as well rounded individuals, ready to take their place as a contributing members of society in the future.

Year 7 also has a strong Pastoral Care program that focuses on developing strong positive relationships between students and their peers, between teachers and students and between our teaching staff and the parent and wider College community.

Year 7 students and their team of teachers have an exclusive Year 7 area that ensures the transition into the College is student focused, supportive and positive.

There have been significant upgrades to the facilities at Dromana College, which boasts a ‘state of the art’ Language Centre with video conferencing facilities, purpose built Year 7, 9 and VCE areas, modern, well-equipped science laboratories and art rooms and an exceptional Design and Technology Centre.

Dromana College is proud of its outstanding facilities and expansive and attractive grounds. The outdoor facilities available for year 7 students to share include a large gymnasium for Sport and Physical Education classes, sports arena, extensive sporting ovals, a long jump pit and basketball courts as well as superbly maintained, landscaped grounds.

We have a walking track through the natural bushland surrounding the College including a fitness circuit to help improve student and staff fitness and wellbeing.
