Secondary Community News

Lower Secondary (Years 7-8)

We have had a very busy but relaxed and enjoyable start to the year in 7/8A. We have welcomed Kristen our new aide into the school and class as well as Aijalon, Daniel and Rylee who have started at the school this year. We began with lots of getting to know each other and school values-based activities, which everyone enjoyed. We celebrated Tet and the Lunar New Year with stories, reading about China and Vietnam, making lanterns as well as the Dragon and Lion dance. We are beginning to learn about where we live, our suburbs, city and state and we are building up to studying places and landmarks of Australia, focussing on the book ‘Are We There Yet?’ We have enjoyed our first Science and Technology classes as well as Visual Art, Design Technology and Physical Education. We are all looking forward to an enjoyable, productive and rewarding year.

Upper Secondary (Years 9-10)

The 9/10s have been busy the last couple of weeks. We welcomed them all back by bringing in the Lunar New Year and joining a Line Dance. Students have been setting up their classrooms, learning about the World Of Work program and are getting used to working on their laptops. The Year 10 students have started preparing for the café and are working with Kat to hone in their barista skills. In the second week, we invited all families to meet their child’s teachers and enjoy the sun, games and delicious sausages.

Senior Secondary (VCAL/ASDAN)

The ASDAN team has made a very successful return to school with all students and staff very happy to back. The students have all settled into class routines very well and working beautifully. Soon we will begin our offsite programs so stay tuned for more information and photos of all of our great work at school and in the community.
