Primary Community News

Foundation (Prep-Year 2)

1/2A is so excited to be back at school and in their new classroom. They have been learning the morning routine of unpacking their bags and signing in. Last week we celebrated Chinese New Year and students got to take part in the Lion Dance. They have been making lots of new friends in their classroom and we are so excited to be on their learning journey with them this year.

Lower Primary (Years 3-4)

The 3/4 team had great first two weeks back to school after a long holiday. Students got to know their new teachers and classmates. They spent good time exploring their classrooms and the school areas. They could see some construction sites for new school buildings. They also had an opportunity to watch a guest speaker talking about Dragon Dance and Lion Dance, which is a cultural activity to celebrate Lunar New Year, Chinese New Year and Vietnamese Tet.

Upper Primary (Years 4-6)

Upper Primary have had a successful return to school. Students have been getting to know each other and build friendships through learning games and cooperative activities. Our focus has been to learn new routines and expectations such as whole body listening, classroom rules, transitioning between classes, and navigating our environment, which is under construction. Our first event is a two-week intensive swimming program which will commence on Monday 06th March.

We are looking forward to meeting all our families at SSG’s on the 21st of February.
