Meet Anthony

| How long have you worked at Jackson? | Almost 10 Years. I started at Jackson in 2014 as a classroom teacher in Year 11/12 (VCAL) and Year 5/6 as the PLT Leader. In 2015 I was appointed as the Assistant Principal (Primary). In 2018 I was made the Deputy Principal. In 2019 and 2021 I was fortunate to take on the role of Acting Principal and was made the substantive Principal of Jackson School in 2022. |
| Where are you from? | I was born in Manchester, UK within a large family. This is where I trained and worked as a teacher and school leader within two mainstream primary schools. In 2013 I emigrated to Australia. I initially moved to Perth, WA before coming across to settle in Melbourne, VIC. I currently live in Geelong with my family - Hannah, Ollie and Lottie. |
| Likes & Interests: | I love cooking particularly over an open fire or Indian food. In my spare time I love spending time with my kids. I enjoy travelling to new places and have been lucky to visit many countries around the world. |
| Dislikes: | I am not a huge fan of theme park rides or seafood. |
| Favourite Sport: | I'm sorry to say I'm not much of a sporty person, but I do like the Formula 1. Being from Manchester I of course have to support Manchester City! |
| Favourite Music: | I really enjoy live music of all kinds. In the last few years I have seen a range of artists from Kings of Leon to Elton John. |

| How long have you worked at Jackson? | I have worked at Jackson since October 2020. Prior to this appointment I was an Assistant Principal at Ascot Vale Heights School. I have worked at Jackson since October 2020. Prior to this appointment I was an Assistant Principal at Ascot Vale Heights School. Over my career I've also worked in mainstream primary and secondary settings as well as the regional office as a consultant. |
| Where are you from? | I grew up in Bacchus Marsh, which at the time was a small country town. I was a farm girl who spent many hours chasing cattle and sheep around the farm with our trusty sheep dog, Shep. My backyard was filled with veggies, fruit trees, chickens etc. I even milked our own cow. A very organic lifestyle which I only really appreciated as an adult. |
| Likes & Interests: | Sport and being active has been an enduring passion throughout my life. I also enjoy craft based activities and doing large jigsaw puzzles with the whole family over our holiday breaks.
Spending time with my family - husband, 2 daughters (Alenka & Tatyana), their partners, my new gorgeous grand daughter Elsie, and of course our dogs, Archie & Rosie, bring me much joy. |
| Dislikes: | I don't like cold weather or neglect of our natural environment. |
| Favourite Sport: | I really don't have a favourite sport as I really enjoy most sports. When I was able to I played alot of tennis, netball, basketball and golf. I now enjoy our twice daily walk with our dogs and pilates. |
| Favourite Music: | I really enjoy most music, however my favourite artist in recent years is Xavier Rudd - an Australian artist who grew up in Jan Juc. |
