CISSA Sport

It has been a busy start to Saints sport in 2023, with training and competition ramping up for what promises to be a big year. The College CISSA teams got off to an exciting start to the competition coming away with five convincing victories in our Round 1 clash against St Mary’s. In Round 2 we took on Peace Lutheran College in an away fixture and our teams managed to back up their first-round results by earning four wins from five fixtures. Unfortunately, our basketball team went down by four points to Peace in a tight encounter. The boys will be looking for redemption when they meet again later this season.

The teams will train during our bye week in week 6 ahead of our first home fixture in week 7 against Woree State High School.

Well done to the CISSA coaches and players on their great start to the season!

TCC Sport

St Augustine's is part of the Trinity Coast Central (TCC) district within school sport. TCC is the pathway to represent the Peninsula region in the Queensland School Sport Championships. The TCC sign-up process is electronic in 2023 with students able to register their interest for the trials by completing a Microsoft form from their accounts. This will ensure that a parent slip is sent home prior to the trials with the necessary paperwork. These forms are then reuploaded to the parent slip with permission attached for approval by Mr Seivers.  Alternatively, please email the forms to me at sac.sport@cns.catholic.edu.au if you have any difficulties reuploading the form to the parent slip. Please refer to the 2023 TCC calendar for trial information.

The St Augustine’s TCC application process is outlined below.

  1. Students complete the TCC Sport Microsoft form from their accounts to register their interest in their chosen TCC sports. If students wish to trial for more than two sports in a calendar year, they must apply by emailing me and I'll seek an exemption from Mr Seivers.
  2. Before the trials, a parent slip will be sent home with documents attached for completion to grant permission for your son to attend the trials.
  3. Parent/Carers are to complete the Peninsula student permission details and consent form and upload them to the parent slip. This form must be submitted before completing the parent slip. Alternatively, this form can be sent to sac.sport@cns.catholic.edu.au
  4. The College will ensure that Mr Seivers signs the document. Students will then collect the signed document from the student office and take it to their trials.
  5. Students must have this booklet completed to be allowed to trial for a TCC team.

Students are no longer required to complete a Request for Leave form if they are absent from school for TCC or Peninsula school-based sport. However, parents or carers must email sac.absences@cns.catholic.edu.au to advise of the upcoming school sport-related absence. Students are responsible for ensuring that they a) contact their teachers about any work that they may miss on these days, b) keep up to date with classwork and c) submit any assignments due during their absence. If students make Peninsula teams, they are entitled to approved leave for the carnival as well as a travel day either side, if necessary. Any additional days of absence may be classified as unapproved leave.
