House Swimming Carnival

 Participation is the winning strategy to success at the House Carnival.

Congratulations to all participants.

A Special Congratulations should be given to a number of students who participated in every possible event and supported many students in the process.

There was lots of colour and movement with traditional swimming strokes events to a range of novelty events such as Lap for a Point, Frisbee Relay, Staff Relay. There was also the popular Fashion Parade, Classic Catches and Raft Building and Race.

These all demonstrated the strong House Spirit that contributes significantly to the success of each House and the House System.

The final results were:

4th Place - 1149pts - DOHERTY

3rd Place - 1255pts - FLANNERY

2nd Place - 1406 - BLACKBURN 

And the winning House of the 2023 House Swimming Carnival with 1500 points was: WOOD

Interschool Sport

The first round of interschool Sport was Senior Sport on Monday 20th February.

This was a very successful day with 10 teams competing and 8 of these teams winning. Each of these teams go on to compete in the Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR) competitions.

The year 10's are currently competing today in their first round of Interschool Sport. We wish them all well and will report back on how the day went in a later newsletter. 

JMSS Sporting Clubs

The JMSS Sport Clubs got off to a fantastic start in 2023 with an amazing level of attendance and participation at both the Badminton Club and Volleyball Club conducted at Monash Sport.

For any student interested in these clubs they run every Wednesday after school at Monash Sport. 

We will also be adding a Netball Club in the next couple of weeks to be conducted at the JMSS court on Wednesdays.

Running Club will run on Wednesday mornings (look out for emails and notifications):

7:20 am for a 7:30 am start, meet at the outdoor fitness station at Monash Sports
