Year 12 Camp

From our School Captains

Two words: fever dream.

From surfing to humiliating ourselves on Red Faces (congratulations to Flannery, the win was well deserved!), from freezing in the early morning sea to midnights becoming our afternoons. The experience was incredible even for the three days it lasted.

The highlight for us, although it was difficult to choose, was a talk from Abdi Aden. He's a prominent motivational speaker and his story is tragic, but his words were inspiring. He also spoke about resilience, which in his view is about understanding the opportunities around you are for your taking, and that everyone should find their purpose. A few of us had photos with him and he's a great guy to talk to.

Other than that, we'd just like to say thanks to all the staff that came along and helped make the camp what it was! From Mr Thompson on the Red Faces gong to Mr Corkill's powerful speech, all the staff had a massive role. Cheers to everyone involved!
