Principal – St John's Footscray

Dear families and friends,

Welcome back to all!! Bring on 2021 - we warmly welcome back all of our existing families and we especially welcome our new families and educators. How exciting for our first year children - they can now go into their room, see the environment, feel and experience the true St John's way.

We can't wait to gather as a community - our school picnic will be an opportunity to see each other and reconnect. (Please check dates for upcoming events)... We are thrilled to be relaunching our Assemblies, in our NEW church hall. With current restrictions still in place we are unable to welcome families to join us at the moment but we are VERY much looking forward to having you join us as soon as possible. Our very first assembly will be on Friday 5th at 2.30pm. Assemblies will occur on a fortnightly basis.

On Monday we ask children in 1-6 hubs to be dropped via drop off zones OR on Joans yard. Prep families are invited to bring children into Prep hub.

After drop off please feel welcome to stay and have a cuppa with other parents in the innovation hub. We will be around to show you the way. We will also be able to assist any family in accessing SeeSaw.

Staff change:

Our wonderful Stevie has been accepted into Physiotherapy - we congratulate Stevie, whilst we are sad that she can not continue in our PE role. Stevie will continue to do CRT around her university timetable/schedule. As one door 'sort of' shuts another opens - we welcome Andrew Sharpe as our PE teacher. Andrew has 17 years of experience in teaching Physical Education and organising sporting events. We welcome Andrew to the St John's family.

To all our families enjoying Lunar New Year - I wish you a year full of joy, prosperity and love. Happy New Year.

Here's to a fantastic year - full of fun, growth and achievement.

Gemma
