Interschool Sport

Yesterday in our home matches against Our Lady of the Pines we had mixed results. Our teeball and hot shots tennis enjoyed wins, while unfortunately our soccer and netball teams had losses. However, much fun is had and more is learnt each week. The rain towards the end of our matches yesterday also provided something a bit different! We have been very fortunate to have students from Warrandyte High School come and umpire our soccer and netball games. They have been doing a wonderful job and it is great to have that connection with them. Also, a big thank you to Younes, Izayah’s Dad who has been coaching the soccer team.

Next week we have an AWAY game against Milgate. All sports are played at Milgate Primary except for soccer which is played ay Donvale Reserve.

The cost for the bus to this match was not included on this term’s excursion planner, so you will see it added to the next one.

District Cross Country

Finally, District Cross Country is next Tuesday. I want to wish all our 38 student who are competing the best of luck. There has been a lot of training for this and I am expecting to see some good results.

Fun Run/Cross Country Fundraiser winners

Monday week ago at assembly the names of all 48 students who raised over $45 were put into a tub and 10 names were drawn out. These students were then able to choose a piece of sporting equipment of their choice as their prize.

I would like to say a huge thank you to the school community for supporting this fundraiser. A total of $4,429.80 was raised, which even with our smaller school population, is the most money raised in all the years I have been running this fundraiser! So thank you so much again. The money is going towards redoing the fading lines on our court playing surfaces.

A special mention to Eliza McKellar (1/2N) who raised the highest amount of $524.00! What a fabulous effort, thank you to Eliza and her sponsors. For this Eliza had 2 choices of equipment.

The lucky students whose names were pulled out were:

Tom McIntyre PS

Ned Grzelinska P/1K

Oak Canny PS

Mack Whitbread 3/4T

Zack Poole 1/2N

Zoe Rutherford 3/4T

Emmett Wilcocks 3/4R

Dean Sledge 3/4R

Jarrah Wilson 3/4R

Henry Stainer PS

Congratulations to these students!
