Runner Up of the Citizen of the Year Award

On 20 May, at the 2021 Glen Eira Community Awards, PFA President, Kirsten Brooks, was awarded equal Runners Up of the Citizen of the Year Award.

Congratulations Kirsten, on your tireless efforts not only at Kilvington, but throughout the Glen Eira community (and beyond).

As part of the Glen Eira Volunteer Awards, Carrie Fowler, Meikhaela Spooner and Andi Hermann (absent), were acknowledged for their many hours of volunteering within the Kilvington community. Thank you!

Year 11 student, Lolly Seligmann, was also acknowledged as a nominee for the Young Citizen of the Year Award.

We are indeed fortunate to have such giving and passionate members of the Kilvington community.

(It was extra special to have former student Margaret Esakoff, Mayor of Glen Eira, presenting awards to our wonderful volunteers).

Hope tote bags designed by Kilvington students

Look at these wonderful tote bags designed by Lolly Seligmann in Year 11 and Myrah Bhargava in Year 4. The tag line on each bag reads: 'Hope lies between the pages of a book' and was written by Maya Wimalasundera in Year 8.

Bags are just $15 and are perfect for library books, a day out or as a shopping bag.

All profits support the @IndigenousLiteracyFoundation, a national book industry charity dedicated to lifting literacy levels in remote Indigenous communities, so all children across Australia have the same choices and opportunities.

You can order your bags here. Bags ordered online* will be delivered to the students shortly after the order is placed.

*Please note that online payments require a Pay Pal account.
