2021 BHS Swimming Sports

Dear Parents/Guardians and students,

On Wednesday the 10th of February, all students will attend the Ballarat High School Swimming Sports day at Eureka pool. Every student has an allocated house in either Baird (Green), Brawn (Blue), Greenfield (Yellow) or Lawson (Red) and will be competing for house points. Students are encouraged to dress in their house colours (not fancy dress). Students have the opportunity to earn points by swimming in competitive events, playing water volleyball and games in the smaller pool, playing 3 on 3 basketball and helping on the day. There will also be music students displaying their talent by entertaining the crowd.

As a whole school excursion students will travel to and from the pool in buses; they do not make their way to the pool independently.  Students will not be released from the pool during the day unless they have an appointment.  Parents/guardians should report to the front gate and sign their students out for the appointment, as they normally do at the General Office.   Students may be picked up from the pool at the end of the day – from 2.30pm onwards only. They can only be picked up by their parent/guardian and cannot leave with other students or their parents.

Students can bring food into the pool or purchase food from the pool.  No food can be phone ordered and delivered to the pool during the day

Students should pack their bathers, towel, goggles, sunscreen, hat, warm clothing, a rain coat, food and water and they can arrive at school in their house colours or PE gear.  As students will be returning to school, mobile phones should be placed in their locker for the day and electronic devices left at home (including iPads).

Parents, guardians, grandparents are very welcome to attend but will need to provide contact details at the entrance to the pool.  In line with DHHS requirements visitors will need to have face masks with them and it is strongly recommended you wear one whenever you cannot keep 1.5 metres distance from others.

Come and enjoy a great day.
