Official Bridging Hub Opening

On Friday 12 February, Senator Sam McMahon officially opened the refurbished Bridging Hub. This state of the art facility was partially funded by the Australian Government through the NT Block Grant Authority. Through the generosity of the government and the talents of local architect Steve Adler, and local builders AusCon NT, our Bridging students have modern, specially designed spaces which are already having a positive effect.

The coordination of a project like this involves the effort of many people over a long period of time and the College sincerely thanks all those staff who contributed to making this vision a reality.

Mr Paul Wilson was the person who originally observed the need for such a space, and it is these spaces which will affect not only our students of today, but also into the future.

The new Bridging Hub is a self contained facility where our students with the greatest academic needs have access to everything they need. The building has already shown an increase in student engagement through the use of resources and flexible seating arrangements. It has allowed students to better access the curriculum through the use of technology that is not available elsewhere in the school. The Bridging Hub also offers a space where students can come and meet in small groups or work independently away from distractions. This Bridging Hub is an asset the Academic Inclusion department and will facilitate a fresh vibrant learning space for all.
