In 2006 on the 16th June, 18 Marian students ran The Tan track in the city in the inaugural event which was named ‘The Craig Mottram Botanical Gardens Run’. The winner was Year 11 student Cassandra Walton who finished the course in first place in a time of 22.54. In second place was Year 8 student Monica Foster in a time of 23.28 and Donna Lazarus and Nikita Murkita both of year 7 finished equal third in a time of 23.29.
