Tackers Course Monday 6 to Thursday 9 January 2020

Plans are underway for a Tackers course for novice Junior sailors these school holidays.

Junior and Dinghy Sailing

This week we are back but we are limited in what we can offer due to the Strategic Planning Workshop which the club would like as many people as possible to attend, plus the fact that some of our instructors are in the middle of Year 11 & 12 exams. 

With fewer instructors available this Saturday, we plan to run an Optimist program for the morning for Oppie sailors only. If you own your own boat, then you are more than welcome to go for a sail as we will have a rescue boat out watching, but we can’t offer any coaching for Mirrors or Lasers which include the use of club boats. The wind forecast is currently sitting on about 18 knots and that will push our most experienced junior sailors. 20 knots and sailing for juniors gets cancelled.

We will be running our canteen this week and thank you to Mel and Rebecca (or Arlen who is going to bake some biscuits) for your cake/biscuit donation this week. We are looking for a couple of volunteers to assist in the canteen as a minimum of 40 people will be upstairs for the workshop and will want some lunch after it has finished and before they go afternoon sailing. If you have some time between 11am-1.30pm we would be more than grateful for your assistance. Please contact me ASAP.
